Family In Need

You’ve probably heard of the family in Latchford that have lost everything in a house fire, there will be a special collection for them this morning, there is a collection plate on the pulpit table.  There is also a Just Giving page and New Song have put out a plea as they have nothing  –  no clothes, furniture, bedding  –  literally everything has been lost.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Joy to the world – the Lord has come

As a baby’s cry pierced the cold dark air over 2,000 yrs ago, it signalled the start of something wonderful, love had been born, the Angels sang ‘peace on earth, goodwill to all’

As the clock strikes midnight – 25th Dec 2018 we enter another Christmas Day, where we are reminded of the love of God in the guise of a baby, who grew to be man full of compassion, mercy and love. He changed the world as he challenged injustice and poverty of the body and soul. Today we long for peace on earth and pray that this day love, peace and hope will rule in our hearts and in the world.

Latchford Methodist Church wish you a very happy Christmas, in all your celebrations remember the Christ Child a gift to the world who still changes lives.

‘Joy to the world the Lord has come
let earth receive her King.
let every heart prepare him room
and heaven and nature sing.’

Merry Christmas

Church Prayer  –  Ashton

We pray for the members and community of our church as we journey through the year with all its challenges and developments. We ask for blessings on the work of our members as they meet the needs of many through the weekly coffee morning, the ‘after eight’ group and the pastoral visits. We ask for God’s guidance as we seek new ways of meeting the needs of the elderly, the lonely and the vulnerable in our community. We eagerly await the arrival of Revd Ruffin Binda and his family and hope that they will soon settle into the community with the support of us all.
Minister: Rev David Easton

Church Prayer  –  Antrobus

Please pray for our friends in the rural chapel at Antrobus and their minister Rev David Easton.  We pray for encouragement of their presence and mission in that village setting and bless their working together with St Marks Church.  This season, as usual, takes them carol singing to each house in the village and the   opportunity to bring some of God’s message and peace to all.  You never know when the seeds may be sown just at the right time….   Minister: Rev David Easton
