Litter Pick on Saturday 4th

Litter Pick on Saturday 4th January at 10:00am. Starting in January litter picks will be held in Latchford on the first Saturday of the month. Meet at Church at 10:00am, equipment will be provided, free cuppa and bacon butties available at Church afterwards. Please join us, the more the merrier as many hands make light work! We look forward to seeing you.

Going Deeper

Going Deeper will be meeting in the new year on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month (except January 6th) in the lounge at 1.30 – 2.45pm. We will be studying Jesus’ parables and we welcome all who would like to get to know Jesus’ words a bit better to join with us. It is very informal with a tea or coffee and biscuit to start us off.

Church Prayer – Antrobus

We pray for our continued Fellowship at Antrobus as we celebrate our carol Service today. Bless us and give us the energy to bring a little of the True Message and joy of Christmas to the homes in the village as we enjoy our annual Carol Singing season. With friends from St Marks and the Village we tour the village for six nights raising money for charity. Thank you for all the pleasure it gives us, and we trust in God that we can touch people’s hearts with just the right message at the right time. Happy Christmas everyone.
Minister: Rev Mark Coles

There will be a 3-course meal during which the story of a murder will be told, and guests will be asked to decide who is the murderer. Further details in the New Year. We also need 6 people to play the suspects plus one narrator. It is not necessary to learn the script but there will be a couple of rehearsals to run through it. We ask for God’s spirit and guidance in extending our work where it is needed within the community of Ashton. We give thanks for the leadership and support of our Superintendent Minister: Revd. Revd. Linda’s EXTENDED challenge to YOU for Advent

Last week Linda asked “How do you show Gods love?” and gave us all a challenge.

The Challenge is to ask yourself these questions:

  • What are you going to do to this week to show God’s Love?
  • What will you do to recharge and to know God’s love?

Small acts of kindness can make a massive change to someones life. The little things we do often make the biggest difference.

It could be as small as giving a smile, or saying hello to someone in the street. Perhaps paying for someone to have a cup of tea or offer words of encouragement. Offer a helping hand, give flowers to a stranger, or offer to pray with someone.

This week, Linda asks that we continue with this challenge throughout the advent period and she also extended the challenge asking us to buy an anonymous gift “For a stranger with God’s love”.

If you do something, no matter how small or insignificant you feel it is, Let Iain know and he will publish it on our website.

Either tell Iain, call him, e-mail [email protected] or click “reply” below this notice on our website. Everything will be treated as anonymous, unless you your happy for your name to be shown. If you reply using facebook then your name will be public and so using the website is best.
Lets see how big a list we can collect.

Church Prayer – Trinity

Please pray for the groups who use Trinity and the outreach work done there. As we celebrate Christ’s birth, let us remember the families whose Christmas is made a happier tie because of the hampers they receive from trinity Kings Cross and give thanks to all the people who support the project. Remember also, the refugees, asylum seekers and trafficked people who are far away from home and fine some companionship at Trinity Safe Space. Amen.
Minister: Revd. Jenny MacGregor
