Churches Together; World Day of Prayer @ Latchford
The Latchford branch of Churches working together are hosting a world day of prayer on Friday 7th March at 7pm at Christ Church Latchford.
All are welcome.
This Saturday is our Monthly Brunch
Saturday 1st March – take a break from your cleaning or shopping and join us for Brunch in the lounge 11 – 1pm. Full breakfast including tea or coffee, bacon or sausage sandwich, bacon or egg on toast or toast and jam.
Hot or cold drinks.
If you can’t afford these prices then please don’t let this stop you attending. We will provide food for all.

Next Sunday Hazel Bradly is our preacher and with it being Saint David’s Day she asks if you can bring in any item that reminds you of Wales.

Cath’s funeral will be at Latchford on Friday 21st Feb at 1.30pm before proceeding to Walton Lea.
Murder Mystery Dinner
Yesterday’s Murder Mystery cast. Have you ever seen such a dodgy group of suspects?
I am told everyone had a wonderful and very enjoyable time. It was a brilliant evening.
A special thanks to the young explorers who cooked and served dinner.

Advent Fellowship Group
The Advent Fellowship Group starts meeting tomorrow and everyone is welcome.
It will meet every Monday 2pm until 3.30pm over advent.
Christmas Afternoon Tea next Saturday
Christmas Afternoon Tea will be served on Saturday 7th Dec at 2pm.
Tickets are £16 per adult and £8 per child.

Christmas Card Post
The post box will be out next Sunday for anyone wishing to send Christmas cards to church family members only. Please mark their full name on the envelope.
The cards will be ready for collection on Sunday 15th December
Christmas stalls – A thank you
A huge thank you to everyone because so far we have raised over £350 from Saturday’s Christmas stalls. We are still counting and this does not include the money from the brunch.
Anniversary items
If you have ordered any church 130th year anniversary items then please don’t forget to pick your pre-ordered items up from Barbara.
Sunday 29th December
Our service on December 29th will be led by our Worship Leaders. It will still be the Christmas season but we will also be looking forward to Epiphany and the new year.
We are asking for suggestions for hymns, songs, readings, images or poems published or your own then please pass them into our worship leaders or submit them via our website, youtube commands or facebook pages within the next two weeks.

Reverse Halloween – Help requested please
On Thursday 31st October both Latchford Methodist and New Song churches will host a Reverse Halloween event by distributing over 300 Goody bags around the estate near the locks.
The Goody bags will include information about both churches and our events.
We need help to pack the goody bags and also distribute them. If you can help with either then please meet in the church hall at 4.30pm. The plan is to depart the church by 5pm and lifts will be available.

Warrington Walking Day 2024
Warrington walking day is Friday 28th June.
Please meet up in Church to leave at 8.45am. We will walk down to the Catholic Church and then continue our walk together to the Town Hall.
We are scheduled to arrive at the town hall by 10.20am and then be ready to depart on our walk at 10.46am.

If you are attending then please use the guild room door as the church hall is hired out to someone else.

Easter Offering Envelopes
In the pews are our Easter Offering Envelopes. If you would like to make a small donation to the Methodist World Mission fund which serves home and aboard efforts.
New Song Kids – Schedule change
New Song Kids will be celebrating Easter with Chocolate Easter Eggs next Sunday 31st March at Latchford Church from 1pm until 2.30pm . All children under 12 with an adult are welcome.
This replaces New Song Kids on the 7th April as this is half term holidays.

Christian Stewardship (Offertory) Envelopes
This years Christian Stewardship envelopes will be available next week for collection.
These envelopes allows the church to reclaim 25% tax on all offertory donations made by tax payers and this is a huge help to the finances of our church at no cost to you.

Pampering Ladies
Saturday 9th March between 5pm and 7pm will be a pampering evening for Ladies. Tickets are £10 and include drinks, nibbles, face masks, hang massage and nails.
Collecting Easter Eggs
New Song and ourselves are collecting Easter Eggs for the Childrens Adventure trust based in Knutsford which will be looking after over 2,000 Sick, disabled and vulnerable children during Easter. If you would like to donate then please bring an egg and place it in the hall.

Remembrance Sunday Service Livestream recording
Issues with the Church Internet connection prevented our Remembrance Sunday Service from being streamed live. However, we did record the service. The recording has now been uploaded to both our youtube and facebook pages.

New Song Quiz Night
18th November-7:00pm – Advance notice of the return of the popular New Song Quiz Night, with quizmaster Simon Chesterson: Taking place at Grappenhall Ex Servicemen’s Club, Chester Road.
Tickets are £10 and £5 for Children, this includes a Two Course Meal, Vegan and Gluten Free options are available. Tickets are available from Kit Heald, Lifts can be arranged if required.
Knitting angels for Christmas needed
As usual we will be distributing angels around Latchford just before Christmas and we would like to ask for your help in knitting them. In the hall you will find patterns on the table by the door into church and there is also a big bag of wool if you need some. The angels will be needed by Sunday 3rd December so there is time to attach labels onto them and a bag will be put out for the finished angels.
Christmas tree service; Gifts requested for Children
December 10th – Advance notice that this will be our ‘Christmas tree service’ and new gifts for children and young people will be gratefully received and passed on to those children who may not otherwise receive a gift.
Christmas brunch
December 2nd – Christmas brunch, following the success last year we will be again having a few stalls. Firm favourites are Gill’s chocolate stall (donations gratefully received) Rita’s cake stall and Kath’s £1.00 stall.
Are your lemon drizzle cakes really enticing, or Victoria sponge cakes mouthwatering? Whatever cakes are your favourite to bake please let us know if you would be willing to make some for the cake stall.
Christmas Dinner
November 25th – Church 3 course Christmas dinner at 1pm – tickets £15, children under 10 £7.50 – musical entertainment included, father Christmas may put in an appearance. Please see Wendy for tickets.
Advent Group
The Advent Group starts on Monday 27th November at 2pm in the lounge and will meet weekly on the following 4th, 11th and 18th December at the same time. All Welcome.
Methodist Homes Association
MHA are celebrating their 80th year. Donation envelopes can be found in the pews.
The MHA magazine, Heart and Soul, can be found on the table if anyone wants to read it.
