Church Prayer – St. James

We would ask you to pray for our Minister, Jenny, for Trudy and Wayne, our local preachers, for our worship leaders and all who hold positions of responsibility at St. James. May they be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit to work to the father’s glory!  We lift up our children and young people, praying they will grow in faith and faithfulness and we think of our elderly members who are ill or housebound and are no longer able to join in fellowship.  We commend to the Lord our pastoral visitors who keep in touch with them, helping them to feel they are still part of our congregation.
Minister: Rev Jenny MacGregor.

Growth Plan

If anyone hasn’t read our draft five year growth plan then a few copies can still be found around the Church and also on the Church website.  The plan should reflect how we, as a Church, intend to grow our Church over the forthcoming years.  It’s therefore vital we capture everyone’s thoughts and comments, both positive and negative, in order to improve the plan.  Therefore, please scribble down any comments and pass them onto any of the Church stewards, anonymously if you wish, or email them to [email protected]

Joy to the world – the Lord has come

As a baby’s cry pierced the cold dark air over 2,000 yrs ago, it signalled the start of something wonderful, love had been born, the Angels sang ‘peace on earth, goodwill to all’

As the clock strikes midnight – 25th Dec 2018 we enter another Christmas Day, where we are reminded of the love of God in the guise of a baby, who grew to be man full of compassion, mercy and love. He changed the world as he challenged injustice and poverty of the body and soul. Today we long for peace on earth and pray that this day love, peace and hope will rule in our hearts and in the world.

Latchford Methodist Church wish you a very happy Christmas, in all your celebrations remember the Christ Child a gift to the world who still changes lives.

‘Joy to the world the Lord has come
let earth receive her King.
let every heart prepare him room
and heaven and nature sing.’

Merry Christmas
