Church Prayer  –  St. James

Please pray for our Sunday School & Junior Church and their leaders, which numbers may increase and our young people continue to learn of the love of Jesus. We give thanks for the continuing ecumenical work within Rainhill village and ask a blessing upon our Minister, Jenny, and other church leaders in the village as they continue to develop ecumenical outreach within Rainhill High School. Please pray that we might understand God’s vision for us at St James.
Minister: Rev Jenny MacGregor.

Church Prayer – Sankey Valley Methodist Circuit

We give thanks for the people of our Circuit as we seek to live out our calling as the disciples of Jesus and ask for your prayers as the Circuit faces the challenge of redefining itself in the context of the changing face of Methodism. Recognising that the future form the church will be different to that of the past, that ordained ministers are in increasingly short supply, and that many lay leaders of the Circuit are completing their term of office, we pray for a fresh vision of the church of the future.

Be with Mark, our minister and Helen our Deacon together with our newly constituted Management Stewards as we seek to develop our Mission Projects including themed     services. We also pray for our Lay Workers, Laura and Linda as they bring Jesus Christ to the children and young people. We thank you that we have so many volunteers who act as ambassadors, catering staff and cleaners and help to meet the needs of the many members of the community that use our premises.

Bless the ministry of the church, the nursery and our day school. We pray for our minister, Rev Martin Wood and our new Deacon Julie Hudson and her outreach work to engage with local families. We pray that her endeavours to engage with families and the surrounding population bear fruition. Martin continues with the mother and toddler group on Wednesdays, the credit union and messy church and we extend a warm invitation to anyone who would like to join us. Please pray for the sick and lonely at this time and we especially think of members who, due to illness, are unable to be with us to worship but they are in our thoughts and prayers.

Church Prayer  –  New Song Network

We give thanks for the ministry of Rev Linda Bishop with us.  We pray for an openness of heart and mind as we find new ways of working together to spread the Good News. We ask you to pray for our young people as we work with them in New Song Kids and in our time together at Breakfast. We give thanks for the children’s enthusiasm and boundless energy and thanks for all those who lead this work as we have the joy of seeing the children growing and learning more about living their life with God.
Minister: Revd. Linda Bishop

Church Prayer  –  Lymm

Lord God we thank you that you do not need us to be part of a perfect church or for us to be perfect Christians. But we know that you have called us broken and imperfect people to care for a fractured world and to journey with its hurting people. Show us how to use our gifts in your service and our brokenness to your glory. Guide us as we continue to discern your will for this community now and in the future. That what we do may be in your strength as sometimes that is all we have left.
Minister: Revd. Sue Smith

Christmas Angels

Many thanks to those people who knitted angels last year. Jean and Kit spread them around the village before Christmas on railings, trees, seats etc as well as giving some to people at the bus stop and others in a cafe. We would like to do this again next Christmas with an even bigger host of angels so can we ask you to keep knitting them and put them in the bag by the vestry door. If you have not done it before then patterns are available from Jean or you can find them on the internet.

Church Prayer – Latchford

We pray for our new minister Linda Bishop as she comes to the circuit that we may work together to fulfil God’s work in Latchford and grow our mission in the local community and with all the groups that use our buildings. Minister: Revd. Linda Bishop
