Today Friday 30th June 2023 the roads around Warrington town centre will be closed, as the Christian Churches and Schools take to the streets to walk as a visible sign of there faith in God, all differences in teaching, in routines, in understanding are laid aside as we unite as a witness to Gods love for all people and for our Town. As Gods love transcends all denominations this walk will be backed by prayer that the peace and presence of God will rest upon our town and those who will be watching.
Loving God, we seek your blessing for this walking day, empower those who walk, to witness to your love, enable those who watch, to catch a glimpse of your glory, energise all people with a sense of hope.
May your joy overflow down the streets and alleyways, may your name be heard resounding from the buildings and rooftops as we praise you in our witness.
May all in business in the town centre feel your blessings and be burden free. For those who are struggling may this day bring a sense of peace and purpose.
As we untie, may your love bind us in unity, may your grace lift us to heights of rapture and may your light shine upon us, strength our faith and root us firmly in your love. Amen

To help us to apply for community grants to continue our work we need to document what we have done, preferably over the last 10 years.
Please get your thinking caps on and help us produce a list of all the community work and feedback we have had over the last 10 years. This can be anything from visiting people, cutting the grass, litter picks, talking to people in the street, handing out free food and drink, food banks, Room at the Inn, knitting or making something. Perhaps someone has just said thank you to us for doing something. Our list does go on and on…. but please note we need community based topics and not faith based.

About Easter Offering
Each year, the Methodist Church holds an Easter Offering dedication service. This tradition dates back to 1883, when women in Manchester collected £32 for missionary work overseas from ‘Christmas pennies’ at family gatherings on Christmas Day. In March 1884, the London Districts distributed Easter envelopes and collecting bags asking for a penny a head, and collected around £100. In 1900, Women’s Work raised £1,655 for the work of overseas missions.
In 2019, collections from Easter Offering services raised over £370,000, thanks to the generosity of Methodists.
All the money raised through the Easter Offering goes to the World Mission Fund of the Methodist Church in Great Britain for work overseas and within the UK including student ministry training.
