Carol Singing and Angel Distribution

On Saturday 19 December 2020 members of Latchford Methodist Church gathered in the village to sing carols and distribute knitted angels. Cheerful voices were raised to celebrate the season of Advent and bring hope and joy to people suffering from the worries and restrictions of the covid pandemic. The use of the outdoor sound system carried the singing further and the response was wonderful with passing traffic tooting their horns, residents coming out of their homes and passers-by all stopping to listen and join in. At the same time 100 angels knitted by 3 church members were distributed around the village, left in shops and handed out to children and adults as a Christmas gift of love from the Church. It is planned to hold similar events regularly in future to bring worship outdoors into the community and share the hope found in Christ and God’s love for all people.

Christmas Angels

A big thank you to everyone who is busy knitting angels for distribution around the village before Christmas. We’d be grateful for as many as possible and the pattern is available on the noticeboard in the hall, on the Church website <click here> and also on the Facebook page. Additionally, please put any finished angels into the bag on the stage by Sun 8 Dec at the latest, as labels need to be attached prior to distribution. Many thanks from the Mission Team.

Christmas Angels

As in previous years we’re going to be knitting Angels in time for distribution locally before Christmas. We’d be very grateful for all knitters to join in and copies of the pattern are available on the noticeboard in the hall and from Marjorie A. Many thanks from the Mission Team.

Angels

Many thanks to those people who knitted angels last year.  Can we ask you to keep knitting them and put them in the bag by the vestry door please.  If you’ve not done it before patterns are available from Jean or you can find them on the internet.
