The Methodist Church of GB has provided this guidance “Older members and those with medical conditions causing weaker health and greater vulnerability should consider not attending church for the time being if they’re worried about infection. This is an act of mutual care and concern and not a desire that people ‘give up’ Church. If you are not an older member and don’t have underlying health conditions but feel ill and/or displaying symptoms of a cold, please consider staying away from the service.” The main thing is that people stay safe.

International Aid Trust Founder will be sharing his testimony at the Capesthorne community centre, Orford on 26^th March at 7pm. Bishop Bernard Cocker has built churches, schools, children’s homes and sent aid around the globe to demonstrate the love of God in action, he baptized 1000 Muslims in Africa. Fred Pendlebury Trust is a Warrington based charity which provides small grants in the way of goods and services to people over 50 living within Warrington Unitary Authority. The Trust is looking for a Trustee who is interested in the work of the Trust. The job is not onerous and involves attendance at two trustee meetings a year. In addition, although grants are normally approved by the Chair and deputy Chair of trustees, there are a small number that require the approval of all Trustees. Trustees must be a member of one of the Methodist churches within the Warrington Unitary Authority. As part of a week of prayer there is a Churches together event on January 19th at 4pm at St. James Church. People from Latchford are attending and lifts can be arranged if you let us know.

Murder Mystery Evening on Friday 24^th January. An evening of fun, food and mystery. There will be a 3-course meal during which the story of a murder will be told, and guests will be asked to decide who is the murderer. Further details in the New Year. We also need 6 people to play the suspects plus one narrator. It is not necessary to learn the script but there will be a couple of rehearsals to run through it. Barbara Johnson (nee Mayne) from Norris Street Methodist Church sadly passed away before Christmas.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this sad time.  The funeral is tomorrow, Monday 6th Jan at 3pm at Walton Lea Crematorium.

Christmas Post raised £36 for Room at the Inn. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

Going Deeper will be meeting in the new year on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month (except January 6th) in the lounge at 1.30 – 2.45pm. We will be studying Jesus’ parables and we welcome all who would like to get to know Jesus’ words a bit better to join with us. It is very informal with a tea or coffee and biscuit to start us off.
