Message from Christine – Thank you for your support of the Fairtrade stall. We raised £348.85 over the last twelve months to help farmers and other people who would not be able to look after their families.
You are warmly invited to join a Lent course on Monday afternoons, 1.30 – approx 2.45pm in the lounge. This will be on 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th March and 6 April. We are using the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland course entitled Setting our Hearts on Fire and each session is self-contained so even if you can only make 1 or 2 sessions, we hope that you will find something to guide you through this Lent season. Look forward to seeing you.
John has a table in the hall with gifts for sale and a box for donations. He would appreciate any help and support given.
Church Council Meeting The next meeting is on Thursday 12th March. Copies of the minutes are available.
The next 3 streets/projects in the Latchford area are Barry Street, Frederick Street and Latchford Methodist
There is a Discipleship meeting tonight at 6.30pm in the hall. All are welcome to what is always a fantastic meeting.
Our Monthly Litter Pick will be held on Saturday 7th March. Please meet at church at 10am, all equipment will be provided, free cuppa and bacon butties available at church afterwards. All are welcome for this act of mission outreach in the local community, doing a good deed and enjoying fresh air and a chat. Hope to see as many as possible for this worthwhile activity.

Growth Plan: We have successfully been awarded a micro-grant of £1,162 from the “New Places for new people; Our Calling fund” from the Methodist Church of Great Britain. The grant is for the procurement of a popup prayer tent and portable sound system and will enable our church to further develop our mission Outreach through a planned programme of initiatives. Planning has started and so watch this space for more information coming soon.
M.H.A. Christmas Quiz The winner was Wendy T from Latchford with 39 points, second was Ruth B from group with 38 points and third was Mary L from Latchford with 30 points. Thank you to everyone who took part.

We raised £100 from the quiz and £20 from the Christmas cards. Thanks to everyone who took part.
Murder Mystery Evening on Friday 24th January. An evening of fun, food and mystery. There will be a 3-course meal during which the story of a murder will be told, and guests will be asked to decide who is the murderer. Further details in the New Year. We also need 6 people to play the suspects plus one narrator. It is not necessary to learn the script but there will be a couple of rehearsals to run through it. Please let Jane Otterson (phone number available upon request) know if you are interested.
Christmas carnations raised £48.10.
Barbara Johnson (nee Mayne) from Norris Street Methodist Church sadly passed away before Christmas. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this sad time. The funeral is tomorrow, Monday 6th Jan at 3pm at Walton Lea Crematorium.

Christmas Post raised £36 for Room at the Inn. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
If you are thinking of joining us then please see Joyce as we need to collect names.
Christmas Day Service will be at Bold street. If anyone requires a lift then please add your name to the paper on the pulpit table.
