Today Linda asked “How do you show Gods love?” and gave us all a challenge.

The Challenge is to ask yourself these questions:

• What are you going to do to this week to show God’s Love?
• What will you do to recharge and to know God’s love?

Small acts of kindness can make a massive change to someones life. The little things we do often make the biggest difference.

It could be as small as giving a smile, or saying hello to someone in the street. Perhaps paying for someone to have a cup of tea or offer words of encouragement. Offer a helping hand, give flowers to a stranger, or offer to pray with someone.

This week, if you do something, no matter how small or insignificant you feel it is, Let Iain know and he will publish it on our website.

It’s time to start thinking about Christmas. The post box will be in Church the first 2 weeks in December, the cards ready for distribution on 15th December. Please make sure the full names are on the envelopes and for Church family only. In alphabetical order in an elastic band would be helpful. Thank you.

Last year at Advent there was a very positive reaction to the pictures that were hung up in the lounge following each Advent group meeting. This year’s group will be looking at art produced in 4 different areas of the world to help us prepare for the coming of Christ. We meet on Mondays, 1.30-2.45pm in the lounge. Everyone is welcome on all or any of the following dates: 25th November, 2nd, 9th, and 16th December.

As part of this event Wendy is sleeping out on 7^th December. If anyone wants to donate for ‘The Room at the Inn’ project there is a jar on the pulpit table.

Christmas Tree Festival at Penketh Methodist on Friday 6^th December to Sunday 8^th December where 18 trees will be on display.

John T would like to thank everyone who helped to make last Saturday’s night such a lovely evening in support of ‘Sponsor A Child’.  The amount raised was £320.  Thank you so much.

Action for Children Christmas Concert will be on Thursday 5^th December at 7pm at Liverpool cathedral.

The Big Quiz Night at Padgate Methodist on Saturday 16^th November at 6pm.

Eric Williams sadly passed away this week.  His funeral will take place on Tuesday 29th October at 11:00am at Walton Lea crematorium. Our thoughts and prayers are with Marjorie, Jayne, Mike and all the family.

There will be a hot pot supper and evening entertainment in the hall in aid of ‘Adopt a Child’ charity.  John T is involved with this charity and would be grateful for your support.  Entrance fee £5.00 and there will be a raffle, any donations for this would be helpful.  Tickets available from Rita and Cliff.

On Sunday we shared our birthday celebrations and the love we have for God with the people of Latchford by distributing birthday cakes.

At 11am we gave, with our love, 190 cakes away in the Latchford village, followed by a further 90 cakes later in the day.

A special thanks to everyone who provided / baked the cakes, prepared them for sharing and to those who walked them around the village. We are truly blessed. xxx

During our 125^th Celebrations we have taken photographs that we plan to upload onto our website and store for prosperity. If anyone has any objections to their photograph not appearing then please let Linda know.

On Saturday 12^th October the Church will be open from 11:00am to 4:00pm, with an exhibition of photography – past, present and future, flower displays and various kinds of music throughout the day.  There will be refreshments for people to come and share our celebrations with us.  We will need people to steward in the Church during these times.  We also need people to bake cakes or donate bought cakes both for the refreshments, but we would also like a further 250 small cakes to give out in the village and the houses near Church.  We will also need help in the kitchen throughout the day.   There is a sheet on the pulpit table for anyone who can help with any of these things to put your name down, what time you can steward or help in the kitchen and how long for.  If you need any more information, please see Jean.  Please can you help with our special weekend?

There is a thank you letter from the Historical Cheshire Churches Preservation Trust on the notice board to those who took part in the ride and stride last Saturday (14th).
